Emma and Dan picked the perfect place for their pre wedding shoot last month, Fountains Abbey in North Yorkshire.  I absolutely adored the little stone bridges with the streams running through and the pretty village nearby with magnolia trees and cherry blossom.  It was a great shoot and we had lots of fun.  They even had a paddle in the stream for me.  They’re getting married next month with their wedding reception at the beautiful Gray’s Court in York, sadly as it is 2 weeks before my baby’s due date I am unable to take their photographs, but they are in good hands with a very dear and talented friend of mine.

Wishing you all the best Emma and Dan, for the 7th June xxx

Here is the story of how they met…

It was a December evening way back in 2006 when I was working as a barmaid in a country pub and Dan had recently moved from South Wales to York to further his football career.

Dan had been volunteered to go to the pub where I worked to represent the football club that had donated to the annual Christmas charity raffle. After downing a number of J2O’s just so he could keep coming to the bar and realising he’d been sitting next to a gaggle of dead ducks all night (a local farmers raffle contribution) he chickened out of asking me out on a date.

Regretting the decision all the way home, he decided there was only one thing for it… He’d travel the 30 mile round trip the following night and ask for my number!

The next night came around and being December the pub was manic with Christmas parties and rowdy drinkers. Undeterred, he elbowed his way to the bar and waited patiently until I was free to serve him.

I recognised him straight away and thought he must have come back to collect a raffle prize from the night before. Little did I know, I was the prize and now 7 years, 4 months and 19 days later we’re less than 6 weeks till we become Mr & Mrs P!!
